ALDO Shoes was founded in 1972 as a footwear concession within a chain of popular fashion boutiques. The original group includes 4 Canadian stores in Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Winnipeg. By 1980, the company becomes independent and prospers. Over the course of the next 13 years, 95 freestanding stores operate under the trade name ALDO.
In 1993 ALDO initiates its retail entry into the U.S. market. The first ALDO U.S. store opens near Boston, Massachusetts. Over the course of the next 9 years, approximately 125 stores open in the U.S. alone. By the end of this period ALDO also operates over 180 successful stores in regional malls and key fashion street locations in most major Canadian urban centers. In addition, the Group operates over 300 stores under 8 prominent retail banners, each catering to a distinct well-defined customer group.
In 2007 Turkey, Romania, Venezuela, Panama, Indonesia, Philippines, Ukraine, Mexico and Chile join the ALDO family. By the end of 2007, over 800 ALDO stores will be operating in 40 countries across all continents except Antarctica!
One interesting thing about ALDO is their shoe box, which is really quite amazing. Not only have they added a nice carry handle so that bags are not needed, but they have also designed it with label slots knowing that it can be used as a CD holder or some other thing. So it won’t get thrown away which is good for the environment. This is a green company to be sure!

What is your largest shoe size?
Answer:
The majority of women’s styles are available in sizes 35 through 42, (5 to 12); while the majority of men’s styles are offered in sizes 39 through 47, (6 to 14).
If you would like to know if your size is available, our Web site provides you with a size listing for each style. If we do not feature your size online at the time of your visit, we encourage you to return online 2-3 days later since our merchandise is replenished frequently.
