May 29th, 2008 | By Lisa | Category: For Children

Founded in 1865, Carter’s has dressed generations of children.

It all began when William Carter decided to knit mittens in his kitchen. Today, Carter’s is the number one children’s brand, selling over 10 products for every child born in the U.S. We have a childlike point-of-view that reflects our heritage of innovation and expertise. We make clothing for children from newborn through size 7: baby, sleepwear, playclothes and accessories. We provide trusted products that are super comfy, easy care, adorable and don’t break the bank.

Carter’s has more than 180 retail outlet stores in the United States. Carter’s is also available in national retail stores including Babies ‘R’ Us®, JCPenney’s®, Kohl’s® and Sears®. Our Child of Mine® brand of children’s apparel and accessories is available exclusively in Wal-Mart® stores and our Just One Year® brand is available exclusively in Target® stores.

Here is the text of a recent press release:

Carter’s, Inc. (NYSE: CRI), the largest branded marketer in the United States of apparel exclusively for babies and young children, has introduced two infant furniture collections. The fashionable and affordable collections — Classic Sleigh and Casual — are available exclusively at Babies”R”Us.

“For over 140 years, Carter’s has created high-quality clothing, bedding and accessories for babies and young children. Consumers trust our products and choose Carter’s as the first brand for their newborn babies,” said Joe Pacifico, President of Carter’s, Inc. “We worked closely with Babies’R'Us to develop a fresh and innovative product offering, and we believe these furniture collections are a natural extension of our quality brand story.”

The Classic Sleigh and Casual furniture collections combine the strength of the Carter’s brand, one of the most trusted and loved baby brands, with the expertise of Babies”R”Us as the authority on baby products. With parents in mind, both collections feature hidden hardware, rounded edges, easy-glide rail systems, and new solutions for storage. Carter’s licensed Butterfly Living, LLC to manufacture the collections.

“Carter’s is a name that parents and grandparents know and trust, and we are pleased to be working with them to offer these differentiated nursery furniture collections to our customers,” said Deb Derby, President — Babies”R”Us. “The fashionable, functional and affordable collections are ideal additions to the broad assortment of classic and contemporary nursery furniture available exclusively at Babies’R'Us.”

The complete Classic Sleigh and Casual collections are available in Babies”R”Us stores now and viewable online at www.babiesrus.com .

  2. Carter makes a good line of clothing, I have been using Carter for my underwear and undershirts ever since.

  3. I guess I never paid attention to Carter in the past. We live in Maine, but we do live near some malls including JcPenney’s and Sears. My daughter has worn mostly second-hand clothes, but I think we will be getting some new outfits for Easter and upgrading her wardrobe more extensively in the coming months. Thanks.

  4. I visited carter Outlet store last week. Designer cloths for kids are fabulous. This is the right place with a big selection for children and you can find many more in premium outlets.

  5. I used to work for a Carters Children’s Wear Outlet back ten years ago. I remember my son was small, and I enjoyed everyday seeing the new lines of clothes that would come in. Who would have ever thought they would cross into the furniture industry. Great idea though, bet it is good stuff!
